Sad beauty

I know that everybody’s been obsessing about Adele and her “Someone like you”, but I love THIS song so much more! It has this rare poetry and simplicity that appeal to me. Beauty in its purest version.

Little things

Aren’t these flowers screaming “LOVE”? Well, I love them very much!
I finally managed to squeeze a relaxed and calm weekend into my more than crazy agenda…a miracle, I should say. The last two days were dreary and stormy: just the perfect weather to curl up under the blanket with a cup of tea and a great book. And that’s exactly what I did. I love enjoying those moments when I have absolutely nothing to do (because I said so, my Filofax rarely agrees with me, but I´m learning to ignore it), and I can catch up on some great movies and my favorite fashion magazines. All in all, I think I’d love to have such a weekend at least twice a week 🙂
I fell in love with these cat-eye sunnies and I can’t wait to take them for a walk, when the sun finally decides to come out again!
The most beautiful nail polish collection ever: Essie’s fabulous French Affair (and I don´t say it just because I have une faiblesse for anything French. I really adore it! My favorite? Nice is Nice!
I’ve been going through some tough stuff lately (“thanks” to my crazy family) and this book has been helping me a lot. Sometimes all I need are a few well chosen words…
My dear readers and followers, you are one of the best things happening to me! Reading your lovely comments and discovering your wonderful and inspiring blog is making me truly happy. Thank you so much! I love you all 🙂

My home: DIY candle holders

I think I’ve already mentioned around here how much I love the Tindra candles from Ikea. Not only do they smell really great (Rose and Tropical fruit are my faves), they also last for several days, and now that I’ve found a way to give them a second life I like them even more!
Several days ago I found myself with a whole lot of empty Tindra jars. Before throwing them into garbage however, I had a second thought: what about a small and simple DIY project? So, I removed the etiquette and the wax stuck at the bottom, and I filled the glass with several layers of colored decorative sand. A little tea candle on top of the sand layers, and voilà: something useless has become pretty again. These two are now decorating my Mom’s brand new living room, and I’m already planning on some new color and texture combinations.

Sarah Jessica Parker has always been one of my ultimate fashion and style icons. I’m always so thrilled to see her on the red carpet: her taste is almost impeccable and her style is so fun and fearless and without pretenses.
Sarah had several great moments during the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Not only she rocked a white hot Dolce & Gabbana maxi dress, but she wore also one of the most beautiful Cannes gowns: a dreamy floral Elie Saab that contrasted nicely with all the monochromatic looks of other celebrities. You can always rely on SJP to bring some drama to the red carpet!
If you, just like me, would like to recreate this amazing look, you can try this:

Little things

Receiving such beautiful flowers is one of the best things about the birthdays!
I hope that you don’t grow tired of my birthday-related posts (I promise, this is really the last one!). I must admit that I wouldn’t believe that 25th birthday could be such a big deal. But then again, it’s a quarter of a century after all 🙂  And I wanted to share some more photos with you.
Otherwise, I got to do some serious thinking about a lot of things these days. There may be a big change coming to my life, and I’m trying to get used to the idea of moving again in the autumn. After all, moving to another European country (Austria, probably) is not entirely new to me (besides my home country of Slovakia, I already lived in Paris and Brussels). Yet, it may be slightly different this time, as I don’t speak a word of German and that could be an issue, right? It’s not definitive yet but I might get some language lessons very soon. Who knows what the future is made of?
The best surprise always comes in a little box!
These yellow tulips are the essence of happiness in a vase
My Mom has wanted to remake the living room for ages and this was my first opportunity to design a whole set of furniture. Great experience, really! We’ve been working on it for several weeks, and now  that we’re finally done…
…we popped a bottle of champagne for the occasion!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

My style: Blue Tiffany

(Orsay skirt and clutch, Halens top, Deichmann pumps, vintage hoops, I am ring, Tiffany & Co. bracelet)
The past few days were so amazing! After such a long time, I got to spend a few days in Paris with my boyfriend, and this long weekend was just as funny and relaxed as I could imagine. We hosted a little birthday brunch at our place (as I didn’t want to make a lot of fuss of the 25th candle on my birthday cake 🙂 and it was a great opportunity to spend some time with our friends while enjoying cupcakes, my secret-weapon chocolate cake and champagne.
My gift came in a little blue box from Tiffany & Co. and I confess that I´m thoroughly in love with my new “Please return to Tiffany” silver bracelet. It reminds me every day how lucky I am to have these great people in my life. I honored the occasion by wearing a matching blue outfit. My boyfriend bought me this skirt in Graz, and it has become an instant staple: it has the perfect A-cut, and every time I wear it, it feels like summer is already here!
On another note, I’ve made a few little changes to my blog layout, so now you can enjoy larger photos. I really hope you like it!

Beauty: Sparkling brown

My dear friends, I know it´s been a long time since I last posted, but I hope you´ll forgive me 🙂 It was due partly my various wanderings (4 cities in 6 days, phew!) and the general fact that our place has been transformed into a huge mess due to the ongoing renovation (and it´s been so hard to even find my computer!). But right now I’m determined to brave these inconveniences to bring you my latest stylish finds.
I know it’s been a while, but I still can’t get enough of the Met Gala photos. All those amazing gowns and beauty! Be prepared that in the following days I will bring you some of the fabulous looks that inspire me the most.
Even if I’m unable to choose just one favorite gown, I can tell you without hesitation that Ashley Greene’s makeup was the one I loved the most. She has such beautiful eyes and knows perfectly how to accentuate their almond shape. Flawless skin, warm chocolate eyes and glossy lips are all I’m craving right now!

Beauty: The Duchess

(Photos via InStyle)
If I should choose just one favorite moment form the much-talked-about royal wedding, it would definitely prove impossible. But I’m quite sure that Kate’s flawless and beautiful makeup would make it to my top five list! I was really impressed to learn that Kate (or should I say, the Duchess of Cambridge? did her makeup herself. It was so perfect, and it completed my 3S makeup conditions: simple, subtle and stunning!  Chocolate smoky eyes, black exeliner, a swipe of bright rose blush and a sweet nude gloss fulfill pretty much all my makeup fantasies.
I’m already looking forward to recreate this amazing look:

My style: Like a fairytale

(Orsay skirt, Clockhouse tunic, Deichmann flats, Orsay bag, Ray Ban Aviators, gifted earrings, Bizuteria snov necklace)
This past weekend was in the name of love and romance: I was really thrilled and moved by the wedding of Kate and William (wasn’t Kate´s gown just PERFECT?), but I didn´t want to post the same images as everybody else. That´s why I decided to honor the occasion by wearing an outfit in a romantic style. My favorite pale rose tunic paired nicely my sparkly skirt (last seen here) and the beige ornamented flats and aviators complemented this outfit perfectly.
